Our Duty

At Gorton Financial Group, our investment advisor representatives are held to a strict fiduciary duty, meaning we are required by law to act in the best interest of our clients in that capacity. Thus we have a fiduciary responsibility to our clients.

Our firm is committed to your priorities being our priorities. Some financial advisors and insurance representatives are held to a suitability standard for non-retirement accounts, meaning they only must recommend what is suitable for the client and not necessarily what is in their best interest. The fiduciary duty is the highest standard of accountability in the financial services industry. We choose to work with a Registered Investment Advisor because their licensing and restrictions benefit and protect you, the investor.


Brookstone Capital Management (BCM) and its Investment Advisor Representatives act as fiduciaries for all of our investment management clients. We have an obligation to act in the best interests of our clients and to disclose any conflicts of interests and all associated fees. Additionally, the recently enacted Department of Labor (DOL) Fiduciary Rule imposes a fiduciary duty upon advice given to any retirement account, including qualified insurance annuity products.
